EDITORIAL POLICY
How we put a guide together.
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Useful advice should explain its reasoning. Here is what you can expect from our articles.
Practical scenarios first
We build stories around the way clothing and beauty fit into everyday life: the commute, a family occasion, a weekend away, a busy morning or an existing wardrobe. Selection criteria may include fit, comfort, fabric, care, portability, versatility, retailer information and an appropriate budget. An expensive option is not automatically a better choice.
Research and product information
Manufacturer and retailer pages are the primary sources for product descriptions, materials and care instructions. Availability, formulations, sizing, prices and return terms may change; the retailer’s current page and the product packaging take precedence. We do not maintain a live price feed and do not promise an advertised price will remain available.
Our buying advice is editorial judgement, not a laboratory result. We do not claim that an item has been worn, purchased, tested or measured unless the article describes the method and basis. We do not manufacture numerical scores, customer reviews, certifications or clinical outcomes.
Writing and production
Articles may be prepared with digital research and AI-assisted drafting tools. They are organised around specific decisions and checked for unsupported claims before publication. Readers should still inspect a product’s current details and seek specialist advice where their circumstances require it. Our beauty coverage is general editorial information, not personalised medical advice.
Photography
Licensed photographs provide visual context for the setting, silhouette or mood of a story. A photographed person is not presented as our author or customer. A photograph does not mean we tested the pictured product, that a pictured brand sponsors us, or that an exact item is available from a shopping link.
Commercial independence
Direct retailer links and any future affiliate links are selected for relevance. Commission potential does not establish product quality. Paid articles and supplied products will be identified in the relevant story if used. We do not sell positive verdicts or hide material commercial relationships.
Dates and corrections
Each story shows its publication and update date. We aim to revisit substantive details when a correction is needed rather than changing dates merely to imply freshness. Send corrections with a story URL and supporting source to hello@notdressedasalamb.com. Material factual corrections should be reflected in the article when confirmed.
See our Affiliate Disclosure for shopping-link details and our Contact page for enquiries.
